ANCIENT& not so ancient WISDOM
offering a weekly positive perspective

Oxford Company, Jeffrey Hansler keynote speaker, trainer, author, employee and management training and development

July 7, 2005

"For, what other dungeon is so dark as one's own heart! What jailer so inexorable as one's self!"

- Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804 - 1864)

A few general facts from 1776.

  • The founding father's of the United States were all young with not much experience

  • Washington had never led an army in his life.

  • None of the men involved had any experience in nation-making.

  • The cause was not a united global front. Many in this nation (if not most) stayed on the sidelines and did nothing. Many that joined for a time became discouraged and quit.

Nothing much happens without a struggle. You have an opportunity in this life to live your dreams and make a difference. In the end, it is what you have done with your life that you will cherish most.

Sincerely,
