WISDOM
offering a weekly positive perspective

I
want to know if you can see beauty, even when it's not pretty,
every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
-
Oriah Mountian Dreamer
When she was nineteen, Oriah moved to Toronto, trained as a social worker
and worked
with teens on the street, abused women and families in crisis.
Oriah Mountain Dreamer received
her name - which means "one who finds and pushes the edge," from
the inter-tribal elders with
whom she apprenticed for fifteen years.
In 1994, Oriah wrote a prose poem entitled "The Invitation"
which was copied and shared by
thousands around the world through bulletin boards, the internet, weddings,
funerals, spiritual
gatherings and workshops. The book, The Invitation expands upon the
original piece.
Living in Toronto with her two sons, Brendan and Nathan, Oriah continues
to facilitate workshops
while studying at the University of Toronto.
Wishing
you great and continued success!
Sincerely,
