Every noble work is at first impossible.
- Thomas Carlyle, 1795-1881
An
essayist, historian, gloomy Scottish sage and highly influential man of
letters,
Thomas Carlyle is renowned for his passionate, preacher-like opposition to
the
industrial society that was emerging in Britain. For Carlyle, the
feudal system's key
value was that it assigned an activity and granted an individual the
freedom to pursue
it in any manner desired. Wrong or right in his positions, Thomas
Carlyle expressed his
opinions, controversial or not, with a conviction he respected in others.
Wishing you great and continued success!
Sincerely,
