Let
Enthusiasm Work For You
Focus
on the Positive
By

When
sales fall, salespeople often leave a company or management
brings in new salespeople to turn the company around.
Both of these activities have the high cost of lost
experience, but often work (If they don't, the company is
often left to ruin). The quality the new people bring
with them, that creates success, is enthusiasm.
As
today's products become more intricate and are sold to
narrower niches and more experienced buyers, a superior
solution is to retain experienced salespeople and revitalize
their enthusiasm.
Why
does enthusiasm work? Enthusiasm organizes your
impulses and clears your mind. It brings out your
intent and becomes the pattern of your efforts, eliminating
wasted time and motion. Enthusiasm is catching.
It overrides fears and builds faith. Enthusiasm leads
to commitment, and commitment leads to action.
How
do you gain enthusiasm and let it work for you? You
practice flowing with life's energies. This does not
mean becoming a spineless "yes" person, but
instead becoming one who moves with life instead of against
it.
Instead
of battling what you do not like, enthusiastically build
what you do like. By focusing on the positive, and
actively building, you may find the opposition joining you.
A
dramatic way to discover how much time you are spending on
the negative issues is to examine your thoughts of others.
Take any negative opinions you hold about other people, and
redirect those opinions to yourself, and you will clearly
see what you expect from life.
If
you find that you have been focusing on the negative side,
this focus has been suppressing your enthusiasm.
Decide immediately to focus on the positive, forgiving
yourself for your negative opinions, and take a positive
step forward to regain your enthusiasm.
Enthusiasm
will come to you - followed closely by success.
